With a view to sustainability and preserving the environment, the Nice Jazz Fest is taking concrete action to limit the waste of water and the use of plastic. The following initiatives bear witness to the festival's commitment to the environment.
The festival is committed to ensuring the well-being and safety of its audience throughout the 4 days of concerts. Aware campaigns are conducted on the risks associated with alcohol and drug abuse, sexist behavior, hearing risks, and the fight against all forms of discrimination.
Prevention stands are set up on the site, and devices are made available to protect festival-goers, such as earplugs, headphones, and breathalyzers.
As part of its commitment to social responsibility, Nice Jazz Fest! has joined COFEES, the Collectif des festivals éco-responsables et solidaires en région Sud.
COFEES, the Collectif des festivals éco-responsables et solidaires en région Sud (Collective of eco-responsible and supportive festivals in the South of France), brings together events across a wide range of artistic disciplines.
It is based on sharing experiences and pooling resources, with the aim of encouraging cultural players to develop more responsible practices.
COFEES offers a wide range of schemes and tools to meet this ambition.
Safer is a scheme to combat sexual and gender-based violence in the party environment.
An application will be available to download on the NJF premises if you are a victim or witness of sexual or sexist aggression.
A safe zone will be available for victims and a prevention stand will be set up in the CSR area.
An information and prevention stand on risky behaviour linked to heavy and/or poorly controlled consumption of alcohol and psychoactive products, , driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, unprotected sexual relations, hearing risks linked to proximity and prolonged exposure to noise sources, , aggression, discrimination and sexist and sexual violence.
The purpose of this space is to welcome, inform and discuss with the public. It
will make available, free of charge, prevention equipment (condoms, earplugs
, breathalysers, glass protectors, etc.) as well as information material
.
A listening and safety area will also be set up to
support vulnerable people or victims of violence.
An awareness-raising stand will be set up on the Nice Jazz Festival site to inform the public about the best ways to sort and reduce waste. In addition, in collaboration with the association Nice Plogging, waste collection activities will be organised during and after the concerts, to actively contribute to the cleanliness of the site and the preservation of our environment.
As part of the fight against cigarette-butt pollution, a scheme will be put in place with the Observatoire de la Propreté de Nice: distribution of pocket ashtrays by awareness-raising teams, installation of voting ashtrays and cigarette-butt totems.
The aim is to encourage people to do the right thing, limit the number of cigarette butts on the ground at and raise public awareness in a fun and engaging way.
A prevention and information stand will be set up in partnership with Maison des Femmes des Alpes-Maritimes, supported by Santa, a sponsor working alongside Dr Cid.
The stand will raise awareness of violence against women, promote the work of the Maison des Femmes teams, and offer a place to listen and resources. Their presence at the festival conveys a strong message: to bring to life the values of solidarity, listening and protection at the heart of a cultural event .
