A Nice Jazz Fest committed to CSR standards

The French Riviera capital places social and environmental responsibility at the heart of its policies. As an event organizer, the city aims to make its major events exemplary in this field.

In compliance with the Metropolitan Eco-Event Charter, the city also implements numerous targeted initiatives, particularly during the Nice Jazz Fest.

At the Nice Jazz Fest, we believe that culture should be accessible to everyone, regardless of differences. That is why we are fully committed to supporting people with disabilities, enabling them to enjoy the festival concerts in the best possible conditions.

  • Full accessibility for people with disabilities, with reserved areas (25 seats at the Théâtre de Verdure and 24 at the Masséna Stage), adapted restrooms, and optimized accessibility,
  • Vibrating vests available for deaf and hard-of-hearing attendees,
  • An “Information & Welcome for All” point is available for any requests or assistance,
  • Nearby parking spaces and drop-off points are available.

The Nice Jazz Fest is committed to offering quality, responsible food to its festival-goers.

  • When selecting food vendors, environmental and waste management criteria are essential,
  • To help reduce waste, unsold food items will be donated to charities,
  • A wide selection of food stands offers vegetarian options to suit all tastes,
  • Waste management is optimised with sorting of compostable or reusable crockery.

  • Survey for attendees to better understand their means of transportation.

With a view to sustainability and preserving the environment, the Nice Jazz Fest is taking concrete action to limit the waste of water and the use of plastic. The following initiatives bear witness to the festival's commitment to the environment.

  • No plastic water bottles allowed, for both attendees and staff,
  • Participants are encouraged to bring reusable water bottles, which they can refill free of charge at the many water fountains available on site,
  • In terms of waste management, the festival deploys a recycling awareness team to guide attendees, staff, and food vendors,
  • Installation of activity and information booths focused on waste management and recycling,
  • To reduce pollution from cigarette butts and plastic, portable ashtrays are available at the entrance and returnable ecocups are used.

The festival places great importance on ensuring the well-being and safety of its audience throughout the concert days.

  • Awareness campaigns are conducted on the risks associated with alcohol and drug abuse, sexist behavior, hearing damage, and the fight against all forms of discrimination,
  • Prevention booths are set up on site,
  • Protective resources are made available to festivalgoers, such as earplugs, protective headphones, and breathalyzers,
  • Safe zone on site, along with measures implemented to prevent, raise awareness of, and combat sexist and sexual violence.
