Busta Rhymes has been a major figure in East Coast hip-hop since the mid-1990s. Of Jamaican descent, he grew up in Brooklyn and later Long Island, where he began practicing freestyle at the age of 17. Known for his masterful, ultra-fast flow and sharp sense of humor, he has collaborated throughout his career with artists such as Public Enemy, The Notorious B.I.G., Janet Jackson, Mary J. Blige, TLC, Jay-Z, Michael Jackson, Snoop Dogg, Fugees, Lenny Kravitz and Mariah Carey. Between 1996 and 2023, Busta Rhymes released 11 studio albums.
