GoldLink didn’t have a ready-made place in the music landscape—so he created one. Originally from Washington, D.C., he began writing music in his late teens, blending hip-hop, house, electronic, and R&B. This unique fusion set him apart from the start.
In 2014, he released his debut mixtape, The God Complex, followed by his inclusion in the XXL Freshman Class the next year. With the support of Rick Rubin, he dropped And After That, We Didn’t Talk in 2015, a project that combined raw storytelling with vibrant production. Alongside artists like Anderson .Paak, Kaytranada, and Chance the Rapper, GoldLink has helped redefine hip-hop and dance music.
His hybrid style transcends genres, crafting a distinctive sound where he envisions a borderless club world—one where genre and regional influences bend to the overall vibe of the music.
