Biography

Nasir Jones, aka Nas, is a true icon of American rap, emerging from the Queens neighborhood of New York in 1973. Immersed in jazz from an early age thanks to his father, the legendary trumpeter Olu Dara, his first album, "Illmatic", released in the 90s, was unanimously hailed as a masterpiece of the genre. Throughout his career, he has continued to push the boundaries of creativity with acclaimed albums such as It Was Written, Stillmatic and Life Is Good. His influence extends far beyond the musical realm, making him a cultural icon whose legacy lives on to this day, as evidenced by the 30-year commemorative tour of the Illmatic album, a unique experience to be previewed on the Place Masséna stage.
