Divided between the Europe of his birth and the Latin America of his dreams, the 31-year-old artist has patiently developed his own universe. His music, nourished by jazz and elegant pop, is oriented towards Brazil and Central America. Louis Matute has a sound, with melodies tinged with folk and saudade, coupled with a real talent for composing. "I've got a thing with the voice," he says. "Melody is really what sticks. I love singing the tunes I play. I've never written a melody without singing it at the same time.
